What's the benefit of a web directory?
A human closely examines each site that is submitted to our site. At a search engine, they use a robot ( computer based program ) to examine the relevancy of each site. Some sites have figured out ways to fool the search engines. So, now when you type in words into http://www.google.com, you're not getting sites that necessarily have the information you're looking for. The most famous example was the "google bomb."
With the google bomb, a bunch of web developers got together and created a link " more evil than satan." The link pointed to Microsoft's web site. The web developers waited for about a month for google's spiders to index all the websites, and then whenever someone typed "more evil than satan " at Google's site, Microsoft's site showed up in the result. The point? Well, it's not too hard to fool a spider but how do you fool a human administrator whose maintaining his/her web directory? Human administrators carefully examine the sites that have been submitted to check whether they have been placed in the proper directory. Also, whether their content is worth what an internet surfer would benefit from. You're able to look through an array of sites that present new and different content from each other.
Please don't misunderstand us. Google is a very useful service. However, every useful service has it's pros and cons and so does a web directory.

Do you want to submit your site to our web directory?
We use the same submission rules that majority of the web directory sites do on the internet. Once you understand our rules you will understand how to get your website to be approved on any other web directory on the internet. So, read carefully and get ready to apply them.
Look through our directories and find the one you think best fits your site. Next, open up two or three of the sites in that directory and look through them. By looking at the other sites in that category you are determining that you are submitting your directory to be placed in the proper directory. The administrators that check your submissions are checking whether or not you took the effort to place your site in the proper category. If you don't, it makes the administrators wonder the type of effort you will be putting forth in your own website in the future.
When you don't have quality information on your site, it makes the directory your site is in look bad because it (the directory) has provided links that are useless. Worst off, this user(s) will now bad mouth your site to whoever is near them within the next 2 days. Translation, not placing your site in the proper directory and placing proper content on it causes web directory administrators to lose a lot of visitors. Also, the content on your site needs to bring something different. The administrator is going to look at the sites that are already in the category you requested your site to be placed in. They are going to see if your website brings some new content to the request category. The reason? Whoever views the category will be presented with a wide variety of information. The information will not be repetitive and presenting virtually the same limited information in the same manner.

Submitted your site to our web directory but did not get approved?
We check for requests made to us for adding links on a weekly basis ( mostly sooner than that ). If it hasn't been a week yet, then please wait a couple of days and we will process your request as soon as possible.
However, if it has been longer than a week, then there is a chance that we didn't feel that we would make good reciprocal partners. Look at the question above carefully and you just might find the answer to why other sites besides us might have decided not to link with your site YET. Remember, no does not mean no forever. It means change a few quirks in your site and will be more than happy to be exchange links with you. Why our web directory would prove useful?
Our list of categories is growing every week. We feel you will find it easy to locate whatever it is your searching for. If you feel that we should add a category which would best fit the genre of your site, suggest a category to us. We will process it as soon as possible to accommodate your request.
Please don't suggest a site in a category that has no relevance to it. As you know, this will not help you nor us. Search engines have algorithms that go through your website and the link that points to it, and they test it for relevancy. If there's no relevant information found on these sites, the search engine will just ignore the link ----- translation ----- your hard work + plus links on your site to use + links on our site to you = NO BENEFIT ! You don't have to be a math wiz to understand that formula, at least I hope not. Back to top
